New Home and First Words

Angela here! We have officially moved and are in our new home.  And it has been a whirlwind of a week...because EVERYTHING is breaking!!  I am waiting for a hidden camera to pop out because you have to just laugh at all the craziness that is happening.  Or else we will go mad.  Here's the breakdown:

Day 1 - The dishwasher breaks and the air conditioner stops running and leaks onto the carpet.
Day 4 - We welcome the new dishwasher that the home-buyer protection plan would not pay for.
Day 5 - The a/c repairman comes and discovers the water spigot outside is leaking into the basement ceiling.
Day 7 - The "fixed" a/c continues to leak onto the carpet...a second phone call made.
Day 8 - The kitchen table we bought is delivered....broken.

On the upside, we are getting a full refund from our inspector and the sellers have agreed to pay for the plumbing issues.  So other than that, home-ownership in the burbs has been great.  Hudson's room (and the rest of the house for that matter) is not quite ready, so those pics will come later.

We have a finished basement with a chalkboard wall.  This is the cute message from the 8 and 10 year old kiddos that lived there before us.  So sweet!

Another upside, we have an AMAZING neighborhood pool.  There is an Olympic-size pool (with complimentary pool noodles!) and a huge heated baby pool with a mushroom waterfall.  We spent Father's Day there and Hudson was timid at first, but warmed up very quickly after he saw how much fun mom and dad were having.  He likes to splash himself and dunk his head.  Yes, my child is fearless.

This is NOT Chris and one of his "man-up-son" moments.  This is my child trying to gulp down all the water.  I think he is spending too much time with the dog.

During the move, somehow all our swimsuits went missing.  Still looking for that box....

And the most amazing part of the week has been Hudson saying his first word.  Sadly, it is not "momma."  But I am told that's not a bad thing because he will overuse that word for the next 18 years.  Hudson will now purposely wave and say "bye" when he leaves a room.  In the video, we are also working on a new trick (yes, my son does tricks).  We are teaching him about Cowboys and Indians...and he wants to be an Indian.

Have a good week! And pray for the Kemp's that nothing else breaks this week :)

My Water Baby!

Angela here!  We have an official water-summer baby on our hands now.  Hudson LOVES water!  All water.  You can splash it, throw it up in the air, dunk his head (gently) in it or spray him with a hose.  He will laugh and stick his tongue out the entire time.  And he's almost at a running-stage as far as his walking status.  The boy is fast!  You blink and he's already on the other side of the yard.

Love this pic!

Penny Lane even got in on some action and let Huddy splash her!  Such a sweet dog.

Sporting his cool trunks from Uncle Matt and Uncle Beej.  He felt so cool he had to stick out his tongue AND give me the "peace" sign.  Genius baby!

Dare I say father-of-the-year award?  I snapped this pic and it made me laugh.  I could lie and say this is Chris' version of being "hands-on."  But he was so good with Hudson.  He got right in the water, splashed his face and dunked my boy!  And Huddy loved every moment of it.

MOVING DAY IS COMING UP!  We are so excited to finally get settled in our new home.  This weekend we will be packing up boxes and hopefully start moving things over sometime Sunday.  Our official move-in day is Monday.  Hudson got in on some action with packing this week.  He thinks boxes are really funny.  He would crawl into a box, tip it over, then stand up in it.  Then Chris would hide and peek around to scare him.  Hilarious stuff.  I should probably take back some toys and just let him play with boxes....

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and weekend too!  Our next post will be from our new home, woohoo!!
