We survived our third annual Boone Family Reunion and it was a blast! And by blast, I mean fun/exhausting/crazy/not-one-dull-moment-ever. With eight tots under the age of seven, there was never a moment without large amounts of expended energy. Someone was always laughing, crying, happy or sad. And I feared the entire time that Adley had fallen off a cliff, as she would wonder off at any given time. She thinks she is a big girl now and did an amazing job at keeping up with the bigger kids. And they were all great at entertaining her and keeping her happy. I think she had a good time hanging with all her cousins and her great grandma DeeDee!
The kids had a ton of activities to do every day. There were bubbles, paint, games, books and of course, lollipops from the "Candy Lady," also known as Lolly. The Pensacola kids gave her that nickname last year and she gladly owned up to it again this year. Below is Adley with one of her treat bags!
Every night, the cousins got to hang out. The younger-parent generation got to go out for dinner while the ever-so-aged-gracefully adults babysat for us. It was amazing! The kids played and exhausted themselves while we peacefully sipped on beverages and ate yummy food every evening.
Hudson with his two favorite people, Anderson and "Cousin Sean."
We had a pontoon boat one day and the kids had a blast. And so did the adults. We loaded up the kids, loaded up a cooler of goodies and set off on the lake. We stopped on a small island and Hudson was beyond excited. He immediately screamed, "Mommy, we're on the Survivor island! Where's Jeff?" It was a proud moment for myself, as I am a faithful Survivor watcher of many years. Each kid got to drive the boat and honk the horn as well - very cute to watch!
First steps on the "Survivor island"
Adley didn't get to do the boat ride, but I had to have a cute of her in her sunglasses...
The last day of the trip always consists of obligatory family pictures. Beej got everyone t-shirts and Missy got all the kids matching outfits, so there were a ton of photos to be taken.
The entire crew...
Adley still doesn't like to take forced pictures. It must be at the free will of the princess, or you will endure screaming and crying. So of course, I snapped away as she threw herself on the floor and screamed bloody-murder. Some cousins tried to help, others did not. I will never forget those little ones who tried to comfort my princess in times of suffering :)
DeeDee and her grandbabies!
Hudson has started soccer and his first game is this weekend! He was slightly upset he was on the purple team. "Mama, I wanted to be on the Rainbow team!" That team doesn't exist, by the way and it is still his favorite "color."
Below is Hudson with his new BFFs, Jenna and Zach, who are cousins. I work with Zach's mom and we have already coordinated play dates and pool outings, so hoping these three will have a lot of quality time together this summer.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas out there! We have a busy weekend in store. The crew is seeing Seinfeld tonight, Hudson has his first soccer game and then we celebrate the most important holiday ever on Sunday :)
