Labor Day Weekend!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!  Chris has been working in Detroit all week and the kids and I have been staying busy with school, work and soccer.  We've had some rain due to Hurricane Harvey (and soon Irma by the looks of it), but nothing major.  Praying for all those in Texas and Florida; we have family in both!

We celebrated Lolly's birthday the other week.  All the grands arrived at her house first thing in the morning with hugs, kisses, loud screams and of course, donuts.  The perfect start to the perfect day.  Then we had dinner at Aunt Shannon's.  The kids showered their Lolly with more love, hugs and probably a little snot and slime as well.  But it was a good evening.

Labor Day Weekend
We hosted a cookout on Sunday with friends, coworkers and family and the weather was perfect!  Sunny and breezy, which was a nice change from the previous rainy, cold days.  We had about a dozen adults along with 10 kids ranging from 18 months to 6 years old....there was never a dull moment.  Someone was always laughing and someone was always crying.  I may have experienced what people suffering from bipolar might witness - fun chaos that you love and hate at the same time.  We only had minor injuries (a mouth/tooth bleed, a forehead injury and a couple skinned-up knees), but the kids rallied into the evening.  And the parents enjoyed some adult beverages as well so it was deemed another successful day in my books.

Kings Island
Then we headed to Kings Island the next day.  Chris, Aunt Shannon and Pop were all working, so it was myself, Lolly and Uncle Drew taking on four strong little personalities.  Each kid is now at the age where they want to do different rides (or where one may be too short for a particular ride).  It was definitely a challenge to manage, but the kids never stopped smiling for those full six hours we were at the park!

And to top it off, it was $1 food day, so we carb-loaded on pizza and ice cream!

Chris and I head off to Europe next week!  We'll be visiting my brother and his crew in Heidelberg, Germany, then making a stop in Venice before we meet up with one of my besties and her husband in Croatia (Split and Dubrovnik).  Chris and I celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary next week as well.  I'm beyond excited to travel but also nervous/sad/anxious to leave my babies.  I know they'll be in good hands, but it will definitely be a challenge for this mama to be away for so long.  Hoping we will be blessed enough to travel overseas with them when they're a bit older.

Until then - I need everyone who lives in or near Ohio to check on Lolly to make sure my kids have not drove her to the point of insanity!  It is a likely possibility :)
