Hello everyone and welcome all!!!!  I was told I have created a whirlwind these last few days and Mommy and Daddy [M&D] have had quite a time learning to re-adjust to an extra addition to their house (my house?).  Now that things are settling down just a little, I can focus on my brand new blog...and I am so excited that you are interested in my world, doings and goings-on, living a (neighbor)hood life!!   I will be trying my best to keep my blog filled w/ all the latest rumblings, but since I am currently just a smidge past one week old,  there are gonna be times when M&D will have to take over reporting duties.  But I'm going to try my darndest!!   But first, I need to get everyone up-to-date...

I was told that the stork dropped me off at the delivery station for M&D nine days ago today - on Saturday July 13, 2013 at 5:17am...which is also Pappy's birthday too!!! [MOMMY & DADDY NOTE:  Pappy is Angela's dad - we also call him Big Erv]  My delivery card said my name was Hudson McIver Kemp, weighing in at 7 lbs, 8 ozs and 21 inches long.

M&D told me they had rushed to the hospital first on Wednesday and sent back home...and again on Thursday and sent back home...and yet once more on Friday before the doctor said it was okay to stay and wait for the stork to drop me off.  I was given a clean bill of health, and practically aced my APGAR score - a 9.9/10, which Daddy said they would round up to a 10, and apparently "no baby gets a 10".....Daddy said it means I'm a genius baby.  Also, I came out looking just like my Daddy...according to my Daddy.

Though quite a few other people have said that I look more like Mommy.  I guess the jury is still out on that one, though I hope I look like Daddy!  Anyway, Lolly and Pop also came up to the hospital to meet me and say hello.  They looked super excited and minus a few outbursts, I shined for them.  I'm not sure what I did, but they came back to see me the next day...and the day after that!  They said I looked "breathtaking"!   I think I wore them out, because even Pop had to take a nap at the hospital (look at him in the background)!

I finally came home from the delivery station on Tuesday (July 16th) and hungry is not the word.  I have been ravenous for some food!  And I've been taking my sweet time with it too - no need to rush in these matters.   But out of respect for Mommy, I try to give her an hour or so of down time so she can sleep before I need feed yet again.  I've also been really digging some sleep.   LOOOOVEEEE my sleep!!!  The best is when I'm swaddled and cuddling up next to someone - don't really care who it is as long as they are holding me tight!    When I am awake and not feeding, I like to just stare at M&D.  They keep giving me weird looking faces, calling me every name except Hudson, and laughing.   As of now, I'm not quite sure how to respond yet, so I just stare aimlessly.  After all, I can only see a few inches away from my face at this point...and Daddy thinks that means he needs to stick his big ugly mug all up in my grill in order for me to see him!  He does this ALL THE TIME; sometimes it's just too much and I break down and cry (Lolly told M&D that I have quite a set of lungs on me!).  M&D also enjoy styling me out in these chic-looking cloth diapers and I'll be honest - I look fresh to death!   Sure, they are a wee big on me right now, but still....these are some dapper diapers!

This past weekend, to celebrate my one-week anniversary, I finally got to meet Aunt Shannon and Uncle Drew!!  M&D gave me a pep talk beforehand and told me that I needed to sparkle for them.   I was a little grumpy at first (not my fault, really, b/c I was hungry), but I came around in no time.  Aunt Shannon was a perfect cuddler, and Uncle Drew couldn't get past how gosh-darn cute I was!  I could tell they had done this before b/c I fell asleep in their arms immediately and stayed that way more or less the whole day!  Aunt Shannon thinks Daddy is a little rough with me, but Daddy did get me to stop crying on more than one occassion...so whatever works, right?   He's a work in a progress!

So yeah, that's my life story so far!   Basically I eat, I sleep, I do damage to cloth diapers.  Mommy and Daddy, I love you guys!!!!
