Pumpkins, Pools, Parks and Girl Clothes

Angela here!  I start this blog with a retraction from a previous statement in the last blog.  Lolly is NOT the best grandparent ever.  I know this is hard to read, but hear me out.  You see, Lolly likes to buy all the grand babies clothes.  Which is great.....unless she buys your son a GIRLS outfit!!!  And the worse part, no one realized it until it was too late.  The morning started with Chris begging to put Hudson in the Nike outfit that Lolly bought.  Nike = Boy, right?  Well after Hud was all dressed and ready, we did think the pants were a tad snug, but we contributed that to the cloth diaper.  But we failed to notice the PINK Nike check on the shirt and pants.....
....and we failed to notice our son prancing around and pointing his toe like a ballerina!!!  This should have been a red flag.
I will admit, I may put him in the shirt one more time (it has a lot of blue in it!).  And then I will wash it.  And then I will give the outfit to baby Claire.  Another parent fail.  Lolly - I allow you to continue to buy clothes, but please pick the appropriate children's department :)

The two water bottle feens!

We went to our first pumpkin patch of the year.  It was actually a store and a farm house, but it was cute.  They had red wagons that you could put all your goodies in, as well as bunnies, geese and chickens.  Ohio is hardcore about festivals and fall farms, so October should be a fun month for us.

Huddy loves to dance around my mums!  I'm proud of myself for keeping them alive for so long.  Remembering to water flowers is such hard work.

We did a lot of family outings this past weekend.  On Saturday afternoon, everyone met up at the park.  The weather was gorgeous!  We brought the Hummer and let Anderson drive Huddy around the basketball court.  I wouldn't say Anderson is the best driver, but he did do awesome at keeping the gas pedal floored and not letting the steering wheel move.  The boys did endless circles of fun or about two hours.

I happened to capture the only moment where Hudson looked appalled with the car and his cousin.  At least Anderson is sporting a nice grin.
Best buds.

On Sunday, Aqua Tots Pool was having a free swim day for all the Kids R Kids daycare kiddos.  So the crew headed out for two hours of fun swimming.  Hudson continues to love the water; he is fearless.  Which makes me fearful!  But he did learn how to blow bubbles in the water.  Well, kinda.  I actually think he ate/drank more water, but he was trying to make bubbles, so that counts.  And he loved to watch Anderson.  If one jumped in the pool, the other one followed.  If one screamed, the other screamed louder (no competition, but my child was WAY louder on the screaming).  But I have to admit, baby Claire beat out both boys, as she screamed the loudest when anyone other her mama was holding her.  We took a family vote, and she will not be invited back to the pool for awhile.
Sorry Shannon - majority rules :)

Hope everyone has a good rest of the week and fun weekend!

Prince George, Contigo and Fire Trucks

Angela here! Mister Personality has been on another roll this week.  We decided to humor ourselves by dressing him up in his "Prince George" outfit again, aka Chris' baby outfit.  It's a 12 month romper that fit Huddy back in April.  This time around, we had to take off the cloth diaper and could barely button up the back.  And his hair seems to change colors between blonde and red, so we're praying he doesn't turn into a ginger (South Park anyone?).  But he still looked pretty darn handsome in his romper.
He's holding his 'lambie' and cowie.'  He has a total of FOUR security blankets that we initially tried to rotate through the crib.  But our little man was too smart for us.  Once he knew there were multiples, he would open drawers, search the room and then whine until he got him all.  #ParentFail

Last week you heard me complain how Hudson took over my water bottle.  Yes, it taught him to drink through a straw, but it was also causing me dehydration and making my skin dry (kind of joking there, but not really.  I take skin products very seriously).  So Chris got the dad-of-the-year award when he brought home a baby Contigo water bottle for his son.  And Huddy LOVES it!  He carries it everywhere we go and doesn't reach for mine anymore.  We are one happy, hydrated family :)

This past weekend was Grandparents Day.  Lolly and Pop clearly have the best grandbabies ever....
....The kiddos delivered two boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and a hand-made card (thanks to my Silhouette Cameo scrapbook machine!).  Each grandbaby stamped their foot inside the card.  It was really sweet; I got a little emotional about how big they have all gotten.
And of course, the grandbabies know they have a wonderful Lolly and Pop.  Every time we go over to their house, a new toy appears.  This time it was a pop-up fire truck.  So obviously, the boys put on their firemen hats and went to work....

And finally, I applaud myself for capturing the moment below.  This happens EVERY TIME Hudson and cousin Anderson play.  There will be at least one moment (usually three) where Hudson will touch/grab/walk-past or just look at Anderson...and Anderson will fall apart.  Anderson starts to cry, Hudson gets confused, and everyone else starts to laugh.  Just one big happy family, right?!  :)

Mister Personality

Angela here!  We've had a little comedian on our hands the past two weeks.  Hudson has developed some new facial expressions, habits and has even increased his vocabulary.  Well sort of...his inflections are good but the pronunciations can use some improvement.  His new favorite words are chicken (ik-in), llama (alm-ma) and cousins (ah-ins).  He can't say "cow" yet but he will moo at a picture for you.  And he can't say "please" or "all done," but he can sign it for you.

Below is Hudson's new "Ohh" face.   Anytime he sees something new, fun and exciting, he will make this expression.  I have caught both Chris and myself making this face, so I'm not sure who to blame.  But it's hysterical to watch.

And another funny face.  At first he wanted to climb up the stairs.  But when he noticed me in the playroom, he stuck his head between the banisters and gave me a "cheeeese."

Below is Hudson's new stance.  Hands crossed behind the back as he fixates on you or an object.  Sometimes he'll walk around the house like this and it looks like he is holding his hips.  Again, hysterical.  I can just see the wheels spinning in his head as he observes the world around him.  Someday soon I'm going to have a jabbering little man....and I can't wait to hear what he has to say (I may regret that statement later on, so feel free to remind me when I complain).

Huddy is working on mastering the use of a straw.  Unfortunately, it is with my water bottle.  I love this water bottle and always have it on hand.  So naturally he gravitated towards it.  I caught him this week giving the "ohhh" face and reaching for it.  I haven't had it since....

And he still loves his books.  He's not too keen on the height of the book holder, but he seems to have adjusted just fine.

We played in the sunflower garden for a bit over the holiday weekend.  There is a field near our house where everyone goes to take pictures and let the kids run around.  There was a lot of mud from all the rain we've been having, so his poor little feet kept getting stuck.  But the pictures were cute.

Next is a YouTube video.  Mister Personality keeps us entertained all day everyday.  This is how we start our Saturday mornings.  Wheels on the Bus and some dance moves.  Notice how when the "mama says shh," he stops dancing and looks around.  He is just like his daddy; they do not like that word.

And lastly, Huddy and his phone.  If you must call Hudson, please leave a detailed funny message or he will give you this expression...

Hope everyone has good week and fun weekend!
